Timothy Snyder – Bloodlands: Europe Between Hitler and Stalin


Wednesday, September 21 at 7:00 pm Center for Judaic Studies has the honor to host Yale University Professor Timothy Snyder with a lecture on his most recent book Bloodlands: Europe between Hitler and Stalin at the Sheldon Art Museum.

This lecture is the Henry and Gretl Wald Lecture for 2011, and is sponsored by the Norman and Bernice Harris Center for Judaic Studies and the Department of History, UNL.

Professor Snyder specializes in Central and Eastern European History and the Holocaust. He is the author of numerous books, including The Reconstruction of Nations: Poland, Ukraine, Lithuania, Belarus, 1569-1999 (2003) and The Red Prince: The Secret Lives of a Hapsburg Archduke (2008). He has written for The New York Review of Books, The New Republic, the International Herald Tribune and many other newspapers and periodicals.
